Technology Innovation
Bote R&D Center focuses on the scientific research of concrete admixture and concrete technology, including concrete admixture, mineral binder, HPC fabrication & application, concrete repairing, performance of concrete strain & cracking, evaluation and prediction of concrete durability etc. Bote R&D Center has been entitled the Post-doctoral Research Station, Solvable Macromolecule Building Material Research Center of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Division of the Research Center for Concrete Construction Engineering Technology by Ministry of Construction and the Concrete Admixture Technology Center in Nanjing by related administrations.
There are 4 Post-doctors, 9 doctors and 27 masters in Bote R&D Center now. The center keeps close collaboration with Tsinghua University, Southeast University, Nanjing University, Nanjing University of Technology, Hehai University, Chinese Institute of Water and Hydroelectricity Research (IWHR) and Chinese Building Materials Academy (CBMA). The R&D center is under the direction of a consultant group which consists of first-class experts, academicians and professors. Besides these, the center usually invites famous professors or experts from the other countries’ universities and companies, such as the University of Michigan and the Dow Chemical Company for academic and technical interexchange. Meanwhile, the excellent backbone of the researchers in the center are frequently sent to the United States, Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Japan and other countries for advanced study.
Over the past few years, the center has accomplished more than 11 fundamental research projects, including 1 project from National Program for Fundamental Research and Development (973 program), 2 projects financed by Chinese Natural Science Fund, 1 project for the West development funded by Chinese Department of Transportation and 7 provincial projects by Natural Science Fund. And the center has accomplished 18 application research projects, including 2 projects financed by National Scientific and Technological Supporting Program, 1 project by the Technology Innovation Fund for Technology-based Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, 2 projects by the Chinese Torch Plan, 3 projects by provincial special fund for technology development and 1 provincial project for Industrialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements.
The center has varieties of laboratories, such as molecular synthesis laboratory, polymer chemistry laboratory, and polymer-structure analysis laboratory, the mechanical performance laboratories, durability testing laboratories, material deformation laboratory. There are all kinds of physical, mechanical and durability testing equipment, measurement system for long-term deformation properties of concrete, and microanalysis equipment in the center. Material preparation, performance testing, and the research of material durability and failure mechanism can be done efficiently in these laboratories.
