During August 25^th to September 1^st ，the research centre had the important academic event in the field of cement-base concrete the cement and concrete ，SBT-SEU-RILEM courses for international PhD candidates. This course was jointly sponsored by the technology university of Denmark ，southeast university and our company .A few internationally famous experts in the sphere of cement-base material have given more than 30 thematic academic forums during this period and the activity was positively participated and enthusiastic responded by nearly 70 students from all over the world.

In this one-week courses, Prof Karen Scrivener from Swiss Fed Inst Tech - Zurich Switzerland, Prof Ole Jensen from technology university of Denmark, Prof R. Doug Hooton from university of Toronto, Prof Lars-Olof Nilsson from Lund university, Prof Jason Weiss from Purdue university gave complete and explicit reports about their own research area separately and offered lots of guidance to the durability design of concrete combining variety standards in different countries。

Prof Ole Jensen and Prof Marianne T. Hasholf designed a few experimental courses in the spare time to improve the ability of practice and cooperation which were warmly welcomed by the students. What’s more, the Poster Day and the Presentation Day bring more academic atmosphere for the courses. Students made posters about their topic and communicated with others in the poster day while in the presentation day students worked in different groups and give presentation of their experimentation and result. The process of discussing and working together gave the students good chance to improve the ability of study and to reap friendship.    

The achievement during the courses has significant meaning for our country to gain more impact in the area of civil engineering materials in the world. This is the third time for our company to held the courses of this level after the courses of the shrinkage and crack of concrete in early age(measurement, mechanism and protective measure) in 2008 and the courses of “multi-scale simulation” for international Ph.D candidates in 2009. The excellent organization work of our company is well received by the experts and scholars from various countries and useful experiences achieved during this activity will help our company make preparations for the international academic exchange in the future.
